Sally & Charles Eschenfelder's garden is tucked away in a neatly ordered and manicured suburban setting in Lufkin, Texas. Intermixed with such perennial favorites as Lily of the Nile, Whirling Butterflies, and Snapdragons are Hemerocallis 'Jan's Twister', H. 'Seductor', and 'Mardi Gras Parade'. The Eschenfelder's garden is proof that daylilies do well combined in the landscape with shrubs, small trees, perennials, and annuals. The beds have a flow that draws you through the yard from the front door to the garden space running street side. Several of the beds have beautiful pieces of garden art showing off the gardener's eclectic tastes. The art pairs beautifully with daylilies such as H. 'Gypsy Cranberry' and the large blooming H. 'Slade Brown'. A secluded courtyard provides comfortable seating along with a view of the indoor pool. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting.
Sally's favorite daylilies are Spiders, some she particularly likes are H. 'Mexican Hat Dance', 'Frank Gladney', and 'Golden Compass'.
